What are the resources at my disposal as a new volunteer? Do I get any orientation to be aligned with the local OU needs?
An IEEE volunteer has several volunteer resources at their disposal.
Most of volunteer tools are housed at IEEE vTools (you will need to sign into the IEEE website using your IEEE credentials to access this page).
There are several other tutorial sessions also hosted by Center for Leadership Excellence (CLE) including their yearly training for volunteers called VoLT (Volunteer Leadership Training). Refer to these slides to learn more about IEEE VoLT.
You will have an opportunity to learn at the Annual Region 3 volunteer training that occurs every year at the Region 3 flagship conference SoutheastCon.
You can always work with other volunteers in your Section to explore the resources available. Typically, each Section has an Executive Committee/AdComm meeting at least 2 to 6 times a year.
